1970's Men's Satin Western Shirt

SOLD!

This again, is another piece from my collection. Something which has crossed my path at a good price and I couldn't leave it behind.

The body of this shirt is a beautiful navy colour. The embroidery backing is silver. It has pearlized snaps down the front. Plus it was made in my hometown of Winnipeg!!

This is a great shirt for any tall slim rockabilly guy or anyone who loves vintage westernwear. It's flashy without being garish.

1960's Sorbet Swirl Hudson's Bay Wiggle Dress

I love this dress and I'm a bit sad to let it go, but it's time. I bought it from Ragpickers a few years ago and had it taken in to fit me. I've unintentionally lost weight in the last year and a half and it's too big on me again.

The photos do the colour of this dress justice, but not the details. They're a bit lost in the print here. The bodice of the dress has a beautiful asymetrical drape in the front and a pretty bow at the waist. There is piping at the waist in matching fabric. The dress closes with an exposed zipper at the back of the dress.

Measurements:

Bust: 34 1/2"
Waist: 27 1/2"
Hips: 44"
Length (shoulder to hem): 40"

Label: Hudson's Bay Company
Fabric: Feels like acetate to me.

Condition:
Excellent - This dress is in amazing condition. With no notable flaws that I can see. There is, however, some glue residue left over from a sticker in the inside by the Hudson's Bay Label. This is not seen when worn as it is on the inside.

1950's Turquoise and Brown Sequinned Juliet Cap

I bought this sweet little 50's hat recently.  I think it was the turquoise colour that attracted me. Unfortunately it's not really my style, so I'd like to pass it along to its next owner.

I have not included a size, because I believe this hat should fit most women. It's got lots of flex.

Label: An Evelyn Model

Condition:
Excellent - this hat is not missing any sequins. It does show some signs of wear on the inside on the grosgrain ribbon - this can be seen in the last photo. This does not effect wearability in any way.

$12 CAD

Japanese Style Bed Jacket

This is a piece from my collection. Which simply means its something that I've bought second hand and kept, but never worn.

This jacket is an open style with two front pockets. BELT NOT INCLUDED. I think it could look great worn as a jacket over a great dress or a tee and jeans, or even worn as a housecoat. I would date this jacket late 60's/ 70's due to the label.

Measurements (all taken from the back):

Bust: 44"
Waist: 44"
Length (centre back): 32 1/2"

Label: Styled by I. Miller for FASHION PLATE Montreal
Size: Large
Fabric: Feels like Polyester

Condition:
Excellent - This jacket is missing the original belt, but there are no major flaws to be notes. The embroidery is in incredible condition.

Purple Floral Print Smart Set Dress

See more photos of this dress here and here

As you can see from this pic, I've had this dress since the humble beginnings of this blog when I took outfit photos in my hallway. I haven't worn this dress in years, but would like to pass it along to someone who will love it as much as I did.

This dress has short sleeves and an empire tie waist. It has a side invisible zipper and the skirt is lined.  It's an incredible summer dress due to the light weight fabric and amazing for travelling (which is why I bought it in the first place) because it resists wrinkles like nobody's business.

Measurements:

Bust: 35"
Waist (taken on seam right above natural waist): 31"
Hips: 44"
Length (shoulder to hem): 36 1/2"

Label: Smart Set
Size: 5
Fabric: 100% Polyester

Condition:
Excellent - This dress has some runs in the fabric, which are completely obscured by the print. There is also some damage to the fabric at the top of the invisible zipper on the side seam - it got caught in the zipper a few times. Again, this is hardly noticeable due to the busy print.

Vintage Cotton Print Dress with Matching Belt

I bought this dress at Rhymes with Orange and wore it once. I haven't dated it since I have no idea when it was made, but it's clearly vintage. The girls at RwO bought it overseas in Thailand.

The print is really lovely and the fabric is very light - perfect for summer. That's what drew me to this dress in the first place. The bust has pintuck pleats and it still has the matching belt. The skirt is lined.

Measurements:

Bust: 35"
Waist: 31"
Hips: 42"
Length (shoulder to hem): 39"

Fabric: SHELL: Feels like cotton LINING: Feels like acetate

Condition:
Very Good - There is some light staining on the shoulders and underarms. It's difficult to see with the print. The fabric of this dress has a worn feel to it, but feels sturdy and is very wearable. The snaps all have tarnish, which I wonder is due to the tropical climate this dress hails from.

Banana Republic Mad Men Begonia Dress in Blue

See more images of this dress here

This is another dress that pains me to sell. Same issue as the 1960's Hudson's Bay Dress. I bought this dress online when Banana Republic had it's first highly anticipated Mad Men capsule. I selected this size following the size chart and it came too big, so I had it taken in to fit me. I lost weight and it's too big again.

Amazing construction on this dress. It's fully lined, it has pockets (!), an exposed zipper on the back and a grosgrain tab on the zipper pull to help single ladies shimmy into it.

I've only worn this dress twice. It's too beautiful to let languish in my closet. Someone must buy it and give it its due.

Measurements:

Bust: 35" (this is a seam to seam measurement. The bust of this dress has some pleating and I believe a slightly larger bust would fit into this dress comfortably)
Waist: 29"
Hips: 44"
Length (shoulder to hem): 41"

Label: Banana Republic Mad Men
Size: 10 (but remember I had it taken in, so this really doesn't matter)
Fabric: SHELL: 67% Rayon 33% Linen   LINING: 100% Acetate

Condition:
Mint - barely worn modern garment. No flaws.

60's Hudson's Bay Company Silver Shoes

SOLD!

Very cute 1960's metallic silver pilgrim pumps from The Hudson's Bay Company.  Leather uppers and lowers

The size is unmarked, but I am an 8 1/2 (which is a 39 European) and they fit me well.
I bought these for a costume party and have never worn them since. They just aren't my usual style.

Measurments:

Length: 10"
Width: 3"
Heel Width (Inside): 2"
Heel Height: 2 1/4"

Label: Hudson's Bay Company

Condition
Very Good - Good - Some wear along toe and there are a few scratches along the sides as well. The inner leather on the right shoe has started to turn in (see second photo). There is usual wear on the soles of the shoes (see third photo). Leather is pliable. These shoes are in very wearable condition! These shoes are a pair, but one label reads "Hudson's Bay Company. Made in Italy" and the other shoe has a different label I can't make out. They fit the same and look identical, so I'm not sure why they have different labels. Just wanted you to know.

70's Coral Suede "Hasbeen's" Look-a-Likes

SOLD!

A cute pair of 1970's "Hasbeen's" look-a-likes. These are incredibly comfortable shoes! The sole is cushioned and in near new condition! The suede is soft and pliable, but strong and the soles are still in great shape. The heels and lowers of this shoe are plastic, but have great ribbed grips under the ball of the foot.

I'm selling these because my toes are too short for the pointed tip of the shoe and I think they look funny. I love these shoes though. They have a great pseudo 40's look in my opinion.
They are labelled an 8 / euro 39. I believe they would fit someone with an 8-9 sized foot easily. Please check the measurements below for a more accurate fit!

Measurements

Length: 10"
Width: 3"
Heel Width: 2 1/4"
Heel Height: 3 1/4"

Size:  8 / 39 euro

Condition
Excellent - The only wear on these shoes is on the soles. The suede uppers are in near perfect condition, as are the soles. This is a very wearable pair of shoes.

60's Mod Purple Suede Shoes

SOLD!

These 60's mod shoes are so unique and cute! You're guaranteed to get many compliments on them! The photos don't quite do them justice. The colour is deeper and more vibrant, more of a royal purple rather than this washed out looking purple in these photos. You won't be disappointed with these beauties, I promise!

I rescued these shoes from Value Village last year. I couldn't leave them there despite them not being remotely my style. I haven't been able to let them go until now. I think they deserve to be with someone who will love and wear them. They are labelled a size 8 B and I would say they are quite true to size. Even though I'm a size 8 1/2 I fit them relatively well. due to the width in the vamp.

Measurements

Length:
Width:
Heel Width:
Heel Height:

Label: The Villager
Size: 8 B

Condition:
Very Good - Excellent - These shoes are in great wearable condition! They have the original matching suede laces. There is some wear on the leather inside the heel due to normal wear. There is also some normal wear on the heels and around the sole on the suede due to normal wear. The only real flaw I can see on these shoes is one small cut approx. 1/4" in length on the toe right by the sole on the right shoe. It is barely noticeable when worn due to how low down it is.
